WWE Star Made History at the Royal Rumble

This year’s WWE Royal Rumble premium live event is in the books after the company hosted the event on Saturday night from Tampa, FL with four matches, officially kicking off the road to WrestleMania 40 in April.

The matches

Bayley won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, earning a shot at challenging Women’s Champion IYO SKY or Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at the upcoming event. On the flip side, the Men’s Royal Rumble Match closed out the show.

It came down to a battle between Cody Rhodes and CM Punk as the final two men in the match. Rhodes eliminated Punk to win the match for the second straight year. He has made it clear that he’s going to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40.

History

Among the competitors in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match was Ludwig Kaiser, who made history at the event as he entered the match at #12, where he lasted under 10 minutes before Kofi Kingston eliminated him.

He earned a spot in the history books by being the first German star to compete in the Royal Rumble match. WWE’s Twitter account in Deutschland shared the news.

The post translates to, “History written! @wwe_kaiser is the first German in a #RoyalRumble match! #LudwigKaiser.”
