WWE is still riding the high of momentum coming off of WrestleMania 40 weekend that included the Hall of Fame, NXT Stand & Deliver, Raw, and SmackDown events in Philly, which will go down in the historic books as a major success.
Coming out of Mania, WWE had the likes of NXT Champion Ilja Dragounov and NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez work a singles match on Monday Night Raw as the top NXT men’s star went over Shinsuke Nakamura. At the same time, Perez beat Indi Hartwell in a singles match.
This was after Stand & Deliver, where Dragunov retained the NXT Title over Tony D’Angelo while Perez dethroned Lyra Valeriya to win the NXT Women’s Title.
WWE NXT noted on Twitter that with Perez’s latest title win, she joins Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler as the only two-time NXT Women’s Champions in history. Perez has caught the attention of fans and WWE management with her quick progression in such a short period.
Perhaps she won’t have to wait long for a main roster call-up, with the WWE Draft happening in a few weeks.
