It was announced tonight on WWE Friday Night SmackDown that Matt Riddle will be out of action for six weeks.
The announcement was made by Michael Cole and the storyline explanation for the time away is that he’s not medically cleared after the attack by Solo Sikoa on Raw this past Money. Riddle has also been pulled from all live events.
It’s unclear if there’s a real-life reason for the time off but given that he’s been one of the workhorses for the company, it would make sense for him to get some time off before WrestleMania season kicks off.
Riddle was supposed to start up his feud with Randy Orton by now but with Orton out after getting back surgery and no return timetable, it looks like that feud could be scrapped. Instead, he’s been paired with Elias in recent weeks. Click here for more news from WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
