WWE star denies report about being pulled from SmackDown match due to being unvaccinated

Nikkita Lyons gave her side to why she was removed from the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament match on Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown.

Originally, Lyons & Zoey Stark vs. Natalya & Sonya Deville in the tournament match on the show was advertised. However, WWE had former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) replace Stark and Lyons in the bout and went over to advance to the semi-finals next week.

As previously reported, Stark suffered an injury during her match against NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose last Tuesday during the NXT Heatwave special.

It was reported that Lyons was pulled from the show as she wasn’t allowed to travel into Canada because she hasn’t been vaccinated for COVID-19. Canada has strict immigration policies that require those traveling to the country to provide proof of vaccination.

Lyons denied this was the case as she took to Twitter to respond to fans. She first noted that she missed the show due to “medical complications.”

The NXT star later wrote, ‘Yes, it didn’t have anything to do with the vaccine. One day I may do a live on ig [Instagram] or something and share. I hope you have a blessed night.’
