Cora Jade referenced CM Punk and AJ Lee during her promo segment on Tuesday’s WWE NXT episode while doing a promo segment.
She talked about why she jumped NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell following a successful title defense against Zoey Stark last week.
Jade opened her promo with “Do I have everybody’s attention now?” paying homage to Punk, who was one of her idols growing up.
Jade stated that while Stark can do things in the ring that she can’t do, there’s one thing Zoey can’t do, and that’s be a champion. She also ended her promo with the words that Lee said prior to Paige’s main roster debut on an episode of Raw, “I am the hero of this story.”
Lyra Valkyria interrupted Jade to tell her that the women’s division took a step forward without her while she was away. This led to a brawl, with Lyra standing tall.
