WWE Star’s Status For Elimination Chamber Was Touch And Go At One Point

One WWE star nearly missed the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE event from Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, on Saturday morning.

The match

WWE opened the show with Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Naomi vs. Raquel Rodriguez in the women’s Elimination Chamber match. Lynch came out on top, earning the right to challenge WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40.

Raquel had mentioned on IG coming out of the show that her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome was flaring up before the show. People who have MCAS have allergic symptoms such as hives, swelling, low blood pressure, difficulty breathing, and severe diarrhea. She had noted the following in a statement on her Instagram:

“If you had told me that on the long flight to Perth Australia for the first time it was gonna blow my face up and turn me the same color as my pink satin pillow case (might have been the makeup on Monday too) I would have still jumped on that flight! Maybe my trip didn’t go as planned but I’m still learning this new body of mine. A big part of being a female Wrestler for WWE is getting to sit in that makeup chair with our amazing makeup team who I love so much and getting to get dolled up. It’s part of being a girl. It’s part of feeling fully the part. At the end of the night, I’m proud I went out there Alicia Keys style.”

Situation

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted Raquel’s status was touch and go due to the MCAS.

Bryan Alvarez: “Raquel Rodriguez ended up doing the show, although it was kind of questionable there for a while.”

Dave Meltzer: “It was touch and go. One of the things I mentioned yesterday with Garrett was things that could happen that were different. But it flared up. They went through that whole match; they basically did a practice match in Australia, and she missed that. But she was able to do the match today. And you know, that’s so good for her. She got to do it. But yeah, she had a flare-up, I think, on the flight over.”

Bryan: “It was on the flight over, and apparently, if something were essentially her face, it’s like everything. It’s like a horrible allergic reaction. although it’s not, and it swells up and turns. She said the color of her satin pillow or pink satin pillowcase. And she thanked the amazing makeup team. She thanked the local massage place that apparently worked with her three times to help her feel her best. But she made it to the chamber. So that one was hit or miss, but she did end up making it for that.”
