With two major announcements by WWE today, a meeting with its corporate employees is slated to take place this afternoon.
Announcements
First, WWE announced TKO, the parent company of WWE and UFC, had appointed Dwayne Johnson to its Board of Directors. Brad Keywell has also been added to TKO’s Board of Directors. The additions will increase TKO’s board from 11 to 13 members.
The announcement also noted WWE and Johnson entered into a services and merchandising agreement, giving Johnson the trademark ownership of The Rock’s name.
Shortly after that announcement, it was announced that WWE and Netflix reached a deal to move Monday Night Raw to the streaming service in January 2025. The deal is believed to be more than $5 billion for ten years. Raw is staying on Mondays and will be a three-hour show.
Meeting
Pwinsider reports there will be an all-hands-on-deck WWE employee meeting today at 4 PM. Employees were informed yesterday.
Although it’s unclear exactly what the meeting will be about, with such big announcements, it’s likely to be about one of them.
