WWE Will Use A Special Stage Set For Return To MSG

WWE will be changing things up for its upcoming SmackDown event with its stage set.

WWE held its most recent event at Madison Square Garden in New York City with a December house show that featured CM Punk’s in-ring WWE return. WWE broke a big record at this show as the sold-out event set a new record for the highest-grossing domestic non-televised live event in the history of the entire company.

WWE’s last TV event at the venue was last July, where they drew over 13,500 fans in attendance. They made history by hitting the biggest live gate for an event at Madison Square Garden ever. It was also the final WWE show at MSG under the ownership of the McMahon family as the Endeavor Group’s acquisition of WWE went through.

WWE will be returning to the venue for a June 28th episode of SmackDown.

As seen below, WWE will be using the minimal stage for the event, something they’ve done at its bigger TV and PLE events that are held in arenas, including this past Monday night for Raw at the Wells Fargo Center.
