WWE’s Shawn Michaels: ‘I’ve had that final match, it is now time to watch the next generation flourish’

WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels has no plans to have one more wrestling match.

Michaels retired for the second time in his career in 2010 following a memorable Career vs. Streak bout against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 before coming out of retirement in 2018 at WWE Crown Jewel to team with Triple H against The Undertaker & Kane. According to Conrad Thompson, the rumor is that Michaels was paid $3 million to wrestle on that show.

This year has seen three of the biggest names in the history of the wrestling business come out of retirement to lace up their boots one more time and step into the squared circle for a match such as Steve Austin and Ric Flair.

Kevin Owens recently pitched doing a match with the former WWE Champion, but Michaels didn’t think he should do it. This was years after AJ Styles pitched a match with Michaels.

While speaking on Culture State, Michaels was asked if he might do one more match himself, and the head of WWE NXT creative was quick to note that he’s done wrestling.

“Yeah, I’ve had that final match. No, father time waits on no man. I’m good, I’m unbelievably happy with my career, and it is now time to watch the next generation flourish.”
