WWE’s stance on CM Punk hasn’t changed, don’t expect him at Survivor Series

Despite the countless reports, there are still some fans holding out hope that CM Punk could make a return to WWE this Saturday at the Survivor Series premium live event in Chicago.

Past reports

As previously reported, WWE talent and higher-ups have said that no talks were ongoing as Vince McMahon decided not to bring back the former WWE Champion. Punk remains on the free agent market following his release from AEW due to a backstage altercation with Jack Perry.

At a time when speculation about Punk’s WWE return is high, there have also been Punk references on television, although those references are reportedly not intended as hints. That hasn’t stopped fans from thinking he’s returning.

Some fans thought Punk could be the mystery partner for World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes against The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio) and Drew McIntyre in the Men’s WarGames Match at Survivor Series. Instead, Randy Orton was revealed as the mystery partner.

No Punk in sight

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that WWE’s stance hadn’t changed on Punk at Survivor Series, and the purpose of Orton’s reveal was done intentionally to not make fans believe Punk would be in the role.
