You can count Zelina Vega in on those who would love to see CM Punk back in WWE.
Vega did an interview with Newsday and she was asked if the “X” she posted on social media was a reference to Punk. Vega said no but she would love to see him back in WWE.
Vega said, “I wish him the best.” She added, “Would it be great to see him again? Absolutely.”
The red “X” she posted on social media (see below) over the weekend was interpreted by fans as her showing support for Punk after he was fired by AEW. The assumption was that since her husband Malakai Black and Punk are friends and since she is friends with Punk’s wife AJ Mendez, that she was making reference to him. Vega played the role of AJ Lee in the movie “Fighting With My Family” about Paige/Saraya’s life.
Vega went on to say during the interview that she doesn’t know what went down between Punk and AEW but she’s always had a “fantastic relationship with CM Punk.” She added, “You hear all these things about him. I am so big on not listening to other people’s experiences, the dirt sheets, all that crap”
Tony Khan and AEW announced on 9/2 that Punk was released from his contract. Today, AEW fired Punk’s friend Ace Steel.
