WWE has locked in the 2018 pay-per-view schedule. The schedule reveals that they will be doing less pay-per-views next year, likely as a cost-cutting measure.
WWE has scrapped the Great Balls of Fire (July) and No Mercy (September). Additionally, Money In The Bank is listed on their schedule as a co-branded Raw/Smackdown show so presumably, that show will have 2 MITB matches for their respective brands.
WWE will run NXT Takeover specials on the night before a "big 4" show (Rumble, Mania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series). This year, there was a Takeover before Backlash so I would presume that we'll get a Takeover in May or June on the night before the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
Here is the 2018 schedule:
Royal Rumble (co-branded) - January 28 - Philadelphia, PA
Elimination Chamber (Raw) - February 25 - Las Vegas, NV
Fastlane (Smackdown) - March 11 - Columbus, OH
WrestleMania (co-branded) - April 8 - New Orleans, LA
Backlash (Raw) - May 6 - Newark, NJ
Payback (Smackdown) - May 27 - Baltimore, MD
