Ahead of Sunday’s pay-per-view, it looks like WWE may have one big announcement up their sleeve to give a boost to the NXT team wrestling in the traditional Survivor Series match.
The WrestleVotes insider wrestling account tweeted today that there’s been a push from people on the creative team to have Triple H as a member of the men’s NXT team.
However, there have been mixed reactions internally to this idea. My guess is that some would feel that Triple H would overshadow the rest of the team at a time when the NXT wrestlers need to look like stars as NXT competes with AEW Dynamite every week.
WrestleVotes goes on to say that Triple H does not want to be part of the match this Sunday. So, unless he can be convinced of why this is a good idea, it doesn’t look like he’s ready to step in the ring on Sunday. If plans change then we should know more by tonight on Monday Night Raw or this Wednesday night on NXT TV.
The 5 members of the NXT team have yet to be announced. The NXT will be in the ring with Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Ricochet) and Team SmackDown (Roman Reigns, Mustafa Ali, Braun Strowman, King Corbin, Shorty G).
