A former champion appears to be headed back to WWE

It looks like there is more to the rumor about former Divas Champion Kaitlyn (Celeste Bonin) returning to WWE. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that she was backstage at the 6/22 NXT TV tapings in Orlando and there has been talk of her returning to the company.

It’s more than just talk from people in WWE because she hinted at a return during an interview with WSVN-TV entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet (click here to see the interview). She has also followed several wrestlers from NXT in recent days.

Kaitlyn is a bodybuilder and model that was signed to a developmental contract in 2010. She won the all-female third season of NXT and then earned a spot on the main roster. She also trained and wrestled in WWE’s developmental system in Florida Championship Wrestling in NXT.

Her time with WWE came to an end in 2014 and she stated at the time that she wanted to return to the fitness industry and she considered herself retired from wrestling. That changed in late 2017 when she announced that she would come out of retirement. She had her first match (since her WWE departure) in February for Coastal Championship Wrestling in Florida and has expressed an interest in returning to WWE.

If the rumors are true then it looks like the 31-year-old will be getting another shot on the big stage.
