WWE is slowly integrating Hulk Hogan more into the events after he was reinstated into the Hall of Fame last July.
PWInsider is reporting that Hogan will be part of WrestleMania 35 weekend. It would be the first time he’s been part of WrestleMania week since WrestleMania 31 in San Jose as part of an NWO run-in during the Sting vs. Triple H match. The run-in also included appearances from Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Sean Waltman.
WWE and Hogan were not on the best of terms after the company severed ties with him in 2015 in the wake of the sex tape transcripts being published from a leaked 2006 sex tape where he could be heard using a racial slur.
WWE removed him from the Hall Of Fame section on their website and Hogan’s name was not allowed to be mentioned. As part of their efforts to distance themselves from Hogan, the company removed “Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling” 80’s cartoon from the WWE Network vault.
There was always a path back for him to return because Triple H said during an interview that Hogan would be welcomed back but indicated it would take time.
Things started to get smoothed over when Hogan was invited by HBO to attend the Los Angeles red carpet premiere for the Andre The Giant documentary. He was later invited backstage to visit with the WWE locker room prior to the 2018 Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Some wrestlers were more forgiving while others felt that Hogan was sorry about getting caught on video rather than being sorry for his words. Hogan being brought in will increase speculation that he will be there to induct Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake into this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame class.
Hogan made his first WWE TV appearance in years last October at the Crown Jewel event from Saudi Arabia.
