A real-life couple will be on opposite brands after the WWE Draft

The WWE Draft continues tomorrow night on the USA Network and it looks like a real-life couple will be on opposite brands after tomorrow night.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the impression that he’s been given is that Jimmy Uso will be staying on SmackDown because WWE does not want to split him away from his brother Jey, who is currently in a feud with Roman Reigns. Jimmy is the real-life husband of Naomi, who was traded to SmackDown.

Meltzer said, “Jimmy Uso will be decided on Monday and it will be interesting to see which side he ends up if they put him in the same group as his wife or with his brother and long time tag team partner. I was given the impression that they are not breaking up the team.”

As far as future plans for Naomi, there is a tease on social media from MVP that she may end up as part The Hurt Business. Also, as previously noted here on WrestlingNews.co, there has been a lot of talk behind-the-scenes about Jimmy and Jey being added to a faction and that would be the reason why WWE doesn’t want to split them up. Click here for spoiler news on plans for the new faction.

The husband and wife split is not as big of a deal these days as it has been in previous years since wrestlers are only working one day a week and a large part of the roster lives in the area. Furthermore, there are no plans to resume live event touring anytime soon, which means that WWE couples are home together more than they’ve ever been before.
