A tag team was supposed to return on WWE Raw but Vince McMahon changed his mind

The Authors Of Pain haven’t been seen on WWE television since last December but it looks like they are close to returning to Monday Night Raw.

Akam underwent knee surgery back in January and that’s why he and Rezar haven’t been featured on TV but Akam was cleared several weeks ago and they’ve been wrestling on live events since July.

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AOP was originally supposed to be in the Tag Team Turmoil match last week on Raw but plans changed and they were pulled from the match. This was said to be a change made by Vince McMahon.

AOP were originally supposed to do well in the Tag Team Turmoil match but they were eventually going to lose, possibly to Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler, but not necessarily make it to the finals.

There’s no word on when they will return to TV but it’s probably soon since they have been working on live events. Perhaps, the right time to bring them back would be on the Raw after Clash Of Champions.

In related news, it looks like Roode is going to get a renewed push. Click here for backstage news on what is going on with him on Raw.
