A top WWE NXT star could be moving up to the main roster very soon

There were several names from NXT that were brought up to the main roster on Monday. The Authors of Pain (sans Paul Ellering), No Way Jose, Ember Moon, and IIconic were brought up to the main roster this week but there is talk of bringing up another name.

As first reported by Dave Meltzer, a few people have mentioned to him that there is a debate internally about Velveteen Dream coming up imminently. There are different schools of thought on it but it's interesting that they wouldn't wait until the summer. Typically, they move names up on the day after WrestleMania or day after SummerSlam.

The Prince-inspired version of his character debuted on NXT television on the May 24, 2017 episode of the weekly TV show. The fact that there is a debate on whether to bring him in now shows that there are people in management that realize that he can be a big star on the main roster. He already comes off as a top star on the NXT roster and many have praised how smooth and athletic he is in the ring.
