Adam Cole-ROH update, is he still WWE-bound?

Current Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion Adam Cole’s contract with ROH was originally set to expire on December 31st but because he missed four months of action due to injuries, ROH is claiming the contract continues through the end of April, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

In the past, WWE has expressed interest in Cole and it is expected that he will end up there after his ROH deal is up. WWE wanted him so bad that they even promised to fast track him to the NXT Championship. During an interview with The Swerve Magazine on Thursday, Cole commented on possibly going to WWE. Here is what he had to say:

“As far as me thinking about the future, I’ve said this before and I’m going to continue to stick by this attitude of just taking everything one day at a time. When I was 18 or 19, I used to obsess with thinking I needed to get to the WWE or I need to get to wrestle here. It becomes so overwhelming. That is not necessarily anything that I can control, but what I can control is me improving every day, getting better everyday and focusing on the task at hand. Right now, the only thing I am focused on is making this run as RoH Champion as good as I possibly can and when I debut for New Japan making sure I have a successful run there as well. Right now, I am super focused, super motivated. I think me doing that will help those processes.”

My guess is that ROH will offer him a nice deal to stay but NXT might be where he ends up by April.
