A Massive Debut Week
For the week of July 28th, “Happy Gilmore 2” recorded a massive 40,800,000 viewers, who watched a total of 80,300,000 minutes of the film. The huge viewership numbers easily made it the top film on the platform worldwide.
Wrestling Stars On The Big Screen
The film features a prominent role for AEW star MJF, who plays one of Adam Sandler’s sons. The movie also includes cameo appearances from WWE superstars Becky Lynch and Bad Bunny, continuing the trend of wrestlers finding success in Hollywood.
The movie’s success comes during a busy time for its wrestling cast. MJF is the current number one contender for the AEW World Championship after winning the Casino Gauntlet at All In.
