Several companies owned by the famed sneaker and clothing brand, Adidas, have reached out to the United States Patent & Trademark Office, asking for more time to oppose the logo Vince McMahon registered for his Alpha Entertainment company, which he is using to relaunch the XFL in 2020.
Adidas is arguing that the Alpha Entertainment logo could be seen as infringing upon Adidas’. Adidas is being given until the date of March 6, 2019, to file an opposition or ask for yet another extension to do so. McMahon made the announcement of relaunching the XFL earlier this year.
In the online press conference, which he held on the Alpha Entertainment YouTube channel, McMahon continuously said the XFL wanted to “reimagine” football. This would go into things like combating current NFL rules and finding ways to shorten the game. No news has come in regards to where the teams will be based out of, or when exactly kickoff will begin (other than in the year 2020), but we’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
