AEW Double Or Nothing Won’t Be Going Head-To-Head With WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Fans got talking about the next head-to-head battle between AEW and WWE when the Peacock schedule for WWE programming listed two upcoming specials. It showed the next two Saturday Night’s Main Event specials for May 24 and July 12th.

The May event would be a week before Memorial Day Weekend. AEW usually hosts its Double or Nothing PPV event on Memorial Day Weekend. The latter would go against All In, which will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, marking AEW’s first PPV event to be held in an American baseball stadium.

AEW usually holds pay-per-view events outside of NFL season on Sundays, while during the season, they hold their events on Saturday nights. AEW has yet to announce its plans for DON this year. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Double or Nothing won’t be going up against SNME.

Meltzer wrote, “We were able to confirm that AEW was not planning a PPV that day, and was likely planning one the next day. However, historically, Double or Nothing most years was on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.”

It was added that AEW “has been trying to keep dates under wraps more after last year’s listing of all dates months ahead led to WWE running a house show on 12/28 in Orlando, since AEW had announced that date eight months in advance.” AEW held its Worlds End PPV event that night, going up against a WWE house show.
