AEW Dynamite beats WWE NXT for week four of the Wednesday Night War

Week 4 or the Wednesday Night War between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT is in the books and it’s the same story as the previous weeks.

AEW Dynamite beat NXT with 963,000 viewers to WWE NXT’s 698,000 viewers. Both shows were expected to see a drop in viewership because they were up against the World Series and the start of the NBA season. The bad news is that AEW dropped for the third straight week and NXT’s viewership has dropped for five straight weeks but they won’t have to deal with the World Series next week so, in theory, they should see an increase.

AEW’s viewership was strong with younger viewers in the 25-54 demographic while NXT viewership was strong with people over 50 years old.

The World Series game on FOX between the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros drew 11.753 million viewers. ESPN’s first night of the new NBA season averaged 1.698 million viewers. NBA basketball will be on for most weeks on Wednesday nights almost every week throughout the season.
