AEW Dynamite Draws 730,000 Viewers And Finishes Top 5 On Cable In Young Male Demos

The April 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, which featured Chris Jericho’s surprise return to AEW, drew 730,000 total viewers and a 0.15 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic on TBS, according to Programming Insider. The show ranked in the top five on all of cable in three key younger demographics.

Total viewership was down 4.6% from last week’s 765,000 viewers, but the key 18-49 demo rose from 0.14 to 0.15. The 0.15 matches the best 18-49 number Dynamite has posted since the February 4 episode. The 730,000 total viewers is still the second-highest number Dynamite has drawn since July 2024.

Dynamite ranked fourth on all of cable in males 12-34 with a 0.12, fifth in adults 18-34 with a 0.12, and fifth in men 18-49 with a 0.20. The show also ranked sixth in adults 18-49 and sixth in adults 25-54 with a 0.22. Overall, it was 12th on cable in total viewers.

The full cable ranking ahead of AEW in adults 18-49 was Hannity (0.50), the NBA regular season on ESPN (0.36), Jesse Watters Primetime (0.28), Gutfeld (0.25), and The Source with Kaitlan Collins (0.18).

The show aired live from the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Dynamite opened with Jericho’s surprise return after nearly a year away. The show also featured the MJF and Kenny Omega contract signing for their AEW World Championship match at Dynasty on April 12, Will Ospreay defeating PAC, Kenny Omega/Brody King/Jack Perry defeating The Demand (Ricochet/Bishop Kaun/Toa Liona), Mina Shirakawa and the Brawling Birds defeating the Triangle of Madness, and MJF defeating Speedball Mike Bailey in the main event.

These numbers do not include the airing HBO Max. The episode notably ended on time with no overrun, which may be a first for a live Dynamite in years.
