After not coming to terms with Tele 5 in Germany back in October 2016, WWE was able to reach a multi-year distribution deal with Sky Sports in Germany.
This deal saw WWE air Monday Night Raw and SmackDown on the network in addition to its monthly pay-per-view events.
Dave Meltzer noted in the latest Daily Update on F4Wonline that reader Markus Gronemann sent in word that WWE and Sky Germany are parting ways at the end of March.
It was noted that while the two sides were in talks to renew the deal, WWE didn’t offer the right to air PPV’s live and Sky decided against renewing.
While Sky Sports had already aired AEW’s pay-per-view event, Revolution, back on February 29th, the network will now offer all AEW PPVs going forward after not reaching a new deal with WWE.
AEW is scheduled to hold their Double or Nothing pay-per-view event on May 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The status of this event is up in the air for now but you can read about the possibilities that AEW could decide upon regarding the event here.
