AEW or WWE? The latest on AJ Styles’ contract talks

It looks like Kenny Omega will not get his dream match with AJ Styles. At least not in the next couple of years.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AJ Styles has not yet signed a new WWE contract but he has told friends that he is staying the company. People in the company are also expecting that he will sign a new deal.

Styles is 41 years old and he’s looking for stability at this point in his career. All Elite Wrestling would obviously love to have him but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now.

Given the fact that he spent his career mostly away from WWE and his size, it’s surprising to see him pushed as a top guy for almost his entire WWE run so far so he has to be happy with how things have turned out so far.

Based on how things are playing out each week on SmackDown Live, it looks like WWE is building towards Styles vs. Randy Orton for WrestleMania.

There is no word on the terms of his new WWE contract offer but it’s worth noting that they have been looking to sign wrestlers to minimum 5-year deals. He would be 46 years old at the end of the next contract.
