AEW Star Pulled From Revolution Battle Royale At The Last Minute

Hook was pulled from the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal for the AEW National Championship at AEW Revolution after failing to receive medical clearance at the last minute. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Hook was not medically cleared in time for the match but is expected to be fine. The nature of his injury has not been disclosed.

Hook’s inclusion in the battle royal had been announced during Saturday’s AEW Collision, making his absence from the match a late development. The 26-year-old has not wrestled since a late January independent appearance, with his last AEW match taking place on January 7 in a lights out tag team match.

Despite the ring absence, Hook has remained a presence on AEW television as the self-appointed leader of The Opps, stepping into the role while Samoa Joe recovers from a reported concussion. Fellow Opps member Katsuyori Shibata made his return at AEW Revolution, competing in the battle royal after spending time in Japan.

Hook is a former AEW Trios Champion, having held the titles alongside Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata. He has yet to comment on not working the bout.

Jack Perry won the Blackjack Battle Royal at AEW Revolution, capturing the AEW National Championship and dethroning inaugural champion Ricochet. No timetable has been given for Hook’s return. We wish him a speedy recovery.
