AEW Star To Work First Match In Several Months

“Cope” Adam Copeland is set for his in-ring return on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, where he will face Stokely Hathaway in a match with major stipulations that could finally clear his path to FTR.

Adam Copeland Set For In-Ring Return

On last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland announced that he will compete in his first match in over four months on the August 13 edition of the show. His opponent will be the manager of FTR, Stokely “Big Stoke” Hathaway. Copeland’s last match was in April at Dynasty.

Major Stipulations For The Copeland Match

Copeland added a crucial stipulation to the bout: if Dax Harwood or Cash Wheeler of FTR get involved in the match in any way, the restraining order they currently have against him will be null and void. The match marks a rare in-ring appearance for Hathaway, whose last singles match was over two years ago.

The rivalry between Copeland and FTR has been escalating for weeks. On the July 23rd episode of Dynamite, Copeland brought in the AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Hurt Syndicate, to attack FTR, sending a clear message to his rivals. This match against their manager is Copeland’s latest attempt to get his hands on Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.
