AEW Star On WWE Run: ‘I Felt Like I Was There Way Too Quick’

AEW star Cole Karter has opened up about his brief tenure in WWE NXT as Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan, admitting in a new interview that he feels the opportunity came “way too quick” in his young career.

‘I Felt Like I Was There Way Too Quick’

Appearing on Fightful Overbooked’s The Spotlight, Karter discussed the pressure of being on national television at such a young age. He explained his feeling that he needed more experience before getting to that level.

“I felt like I was there way too quick. I don’t feel like I should have been there yet. I felt like I needed a lot more experience,” Karter said. “It was just scary. Every time I walked into the PC, it was scary with the best wrestlers in the world. You just learn and do the best you can, which is what I did.”

From Tony D’s Family To The Frat House

During his short run in NXT in 2022, Karter was a member of Tony D’Angelo’s crime family faction alongside Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. After his release from the company, he signed with AEW.

“Now, I’m with AEW and I love it, and I’m still learning and trying my best to get better. I’m still very young,” he said. Karter has found a home on Ring of Honor programming as a member of The Frat House faction alongside Preston Vance and Griff Garrison. The trio recently competed at the ROH Supercard of Honor event on July 11th, where they were defeated by The Dark Order.
