Tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is dedicated to celebrating 20 years of John Cena with plenty of cameo appearances from current and former WWE stars.
In addition to several backstage segments, WWE showed some taped comments from current and future Hall Of Famers including Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Trish Stratus, Booker T, Bryan Danielson, and “Big Show” Paul Wight.
Wight and Danielson work for AEW but there was no acknowledgment of them as AEW wrestlers. Instead, they were referred to by their WWE names Daniel Bryan and The Big Show.
Clearly, Danielson and Wight would have needed approval from Tony Khan to do this but it’s still jarring to see an active AEW talent appearing on a WWE show.
