AEW’s Tay Conti issues MMA challenge, ex-UFC fighter Angela Magana accepts

Tay Conti is looking to get an MMA fight booked and it appears that Angela Magana will grant her wish.

It all started when the AEW star wrote, “Give me a MMA challenge please …” in a post on her Twitter account. Megana responded with, “Uh Vai Morrer,” which means “you’re gonna die.”

Conti responded with, “Let’s do it?” Magana put up an emoji. Tay wrote back with, “The only death problem I see here is losing weight to be as small as ya but don’t worry I’ll be ready to kick your ass.”

Finally, Magana commented on that post by writing, “Nice excuse menina. If you are so scared to go down to my weight I might just come up to make you regret and end your MMA dream for good.”

Conti, who is currently under contract with AEW, does have a black belt in judo and a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. In fact, she participated in trials for the Brazilian Olympic team at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

She would later join WWE. She pursued Judo where she became a regional champion and four-time state champion in addition to taking part in the European Judo circuit in Portugal and Germany as she represented the National Brazilian team. While no, she doesn’t have any pro-MMA experience, she does train Muay Thai and kickboxing regularly.

On the flip side, Magana has fought as a pro-MMA fighter since 2007 where she holds a record of 11-10. After competing on The Ultimate Fighter, she got a contract with the UFC where she competed at UFC 218. She’s lost her six fights.
