AJ Styles has issued a statement on his injury status after being injured at Thursday’s WWE house show in Hershey, PA, during a mixed tag team match when he teamed with Karl Anderson, & Mia Yim vs. Finn Balor, Damian Priest, & Rhea Ripley.
It appeared to be a leg/ankle injury after an over-the-top-rope spot. After the referee threw up the “X” signal, they went straight to the finish. Post-match, Styles was helped up by Gallows and Anderson and could not walk under his own power.
On Friday, Styles went to Tampa to get checked out.
Styles has provided an update in a statement on Twitter by noting that he has a broken ankle, but the good news is that he won’t need surgery. He wrote the following:
“Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I’ve ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.”
We wish AJ a speedy recovery.
