Since returning to WWE television a few months ago, AJ Styles has been put in some prominent spots on the card in notable bouts against fellow top stars.
At the Royal Rumble, he was part of the Fatal 4-Way bout with then-Undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and LA Knight but came up short. He cost Knight his Elimination Chamber match, setting the stage for a WrestleMania XL showdown where the fan-favorite star went over.
Styles most recently came up short when challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title at Backlash France earlier this month. He won’t get a rematch at the King & Queen of the Ring PLE as Logan Paul is stepping in as Rhodes’ next challenger.
While speaking with SI.com, Styles was asked about a potential showdown with The Rock. However, he only wants the match if Rock is the babyface.
“Of course, I’m interested—but only if that means The Rock is turning babyface,” said Styles. “I’m not interested in being a mediocre bad guy. I want to bring this to a whole new level.”
Styles added that when he steps into an arena, he wants to hear more boos from fans than Domnik Mysterio, one of WWE’s most hated heels among fans.
