AJ Styles pitched for a big match for WWE Survivor Series

As noted earlier this week, there was a change made to one of the matches at Monday’s Raw.

Dave Meltzer noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AJ Styles pitched the idea to do The OC vs. The Undisputed Era at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

However, it doesn’t look like the match will happen at the pay-per-view because the current plan is for the match to take place on a future episode of NXT on USA. There is always a chance that Vince McMahon will decide to move the match to the pay-per-view but it’s clear that they are pushing hard to get a win over AEW Dynamite and that match could give them the ratings boost that they need to beat AEW.

This week on NXT, The OC took on Matt Riddle, Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa. At the end of the show, they teased a reunion between Finn Balor and his former Bullet Club members. That angle will pay off on a future NXT show, either with Balor joining them or turning on them. Next week’s NXT rating will be interesting.

As previously noted, WWE has bigger plans for Styles at Survivor Series. Click here for news on a dream match that is planned for that show.
