In March, AJ Styles signed a 5-year deal to stay with WWE but don’t expect him to jump to All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling when he turns 46 because it looks like he has plans for the next stage of his life after this current deal expires. Styles says the last contract he signed was his last.
“I can tell you that this contract that I’ve signed is my last,” Styles told Newsweek. “This is the perfect place for me to be. It’s family-oriented, I have no problem taking my family to the shows. It’s a PG product, which I enjoy. I’m in the best place I can be for my career.”
During the interview, Styles also talked about things he is looking to accomplish. He wants to be a Universal Champion but he insists that he doesn’t need to have every belt.
He said, “There’s a lot of things I want to do and they don’t involve having every belt I can. That’s not what it is. I want to be a household name. I want them to know that when they hear my name they think WWE or when they hear WWE they think AJ Styles.”
Styles also talked about SmackDown Live’s move to Fox and said he would like to be on the debut show, his recent feud with Seth Rollins and he said that he’d love to be with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson again. He said, “Maybe soon we’ll be back together again and put on some entertaining matches. But who knows when that’ll be. I would love to be back with those guys.”
