Alberto Del Rio, real name Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, will be going to court next week after the trial had been delayed numerous times.
The trial was slated to start on January 25th then it got pushed back to May 3rd. The third time might be the charm as the new court date is Monday, August 2nd in San Antonio, Texas.
In May 2020, he was arrested for accusations from his then-girlfriend and charged with one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault.
The victim alleged it all started when Del Rio accused her of infidelity. She alleges he physically assaulted her because she refused to admit to what he was accusing her of doing. Del Rio got mad and “slapped her across the head” several times and “forced her to wear a dress and dance for him.”
The former WWE star then allegedly threatened to take her son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere” if she didn’t do what he said. When she went to the police, she provided photos of her injuries.
In October 2020, he was indicted by a grand jury in Texas and could be facing as much as life in prison if he’s found guilty. Del Rio spoke about the allegations earlier this month.
