Alberto Del Rio sexual assault/aggravated kidnapping trial postponed

Alberto Del Rio, real name Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, was supposed to go to trial today.

The trial was slated to start in San Antonio, Texas in order for him to face one count of aggravated kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault.

Pwinsider.com reports the trial was pushed back to May 3rd. He was in court this morning so the decision to push the trial back appears to be a last-minute ruling by the court.

The former WWE and Impact Wrestling star was arrested for the alleged offenses last May. The arrest happened when he accused the victim of infidelity. This led to him physically assaulting her. The victim states that after she refused to admit to what he was accusing her of doing then he “slapped her across the head” several times and “forced her to wear a dress and dance for him.”

Finally, the victim stated Del Rio threatened to take her son and “drop him in the middle of the road somewhere” if she didn’t do what he said. The victim had her injuries documented via photographs.

He was indicted in October 2020 by a grand jury in Texas. If he’s found guilty of these crimes then he could be facing as much as life in prison.
