Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) are the free agents after their TNA contracts expired in March, but the belief is that they’re headed to WWE.
It was previously reported that they were AEW-bound. However, things have changed, as Dave Meltzer and PWInsider.com reported that they’re expected to join WWE.
Shelly worked a match at West Coast Pro Wrestling’s Untouchable event, where he told fans, “Spoiler alert, I might not come back here” and “The future of pro wrestling is safe and sound in a West Coast Pro ring.” In an Instagram post, Shelly previously teased possibly having his final match with Beyond Wrestling earlier this month.
Shelly has worked a few matches in WWE, including in June 2005 on Sunday Night Heat, where he lost to Simon Dean, and later a few bouts in NXT in early 2020. For the black-and-gold brand, he was brought in to team with Timesplitters ally KUSHIDA.
