Roman Reigns kicked off this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw to announce his plans for SummerSlam. He declared that he wanted to face the winner of the upcoming Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar match. Unfortunately for him, Braun Strowman had other plans.
Strowman returned during the Joe vs. Reigns match in the second hour. About 15 minutes into the match, an ambulance siren could be heard playing in the arena. Strowman stepped out of the back of the ambulance and laid out Reigns and declared that he was not finished with Reigns and he would see him at Great Balls Of Fire in an ambulance match.
The announcers talked about how Strowman made a miraculous recovery because he was supposed to be out of action for 6 months. In reality, the 6 months timeframe was exaggerated and he was expected back around this time. At the time of his surgery, it was not clear whether he’d be back in time for Great Balls Of Fire but he was ahead of schedule on his rehab after minor elbow surgery so they are going to wrap up his feud with Reigns this month.
WWE Great Balls Of Fire will take place on 7/19 in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center. As of right now, the only other match announced for the show is the Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe but It looks like they will add Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt, a multi-woman match, and another Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz match. It’s also looking like The Hardys will get a tag team title shot against Sheamus and Cesaro. Big Cass turned heel so perhaps we’ll see Cass vs. Enzo Amore at the pay-per-view.
Great Balls Of Fire is the last Raw PPV before SummerSlam so we should know more about SummerSlam plans after this show.
