American Alpha pulled from Smackdown Tag Team Championship Finals, new Backlash match added

On this week’s episode of Talking Smack, Shane McMahon announced that Chad Gable will be out 2-4 weeks with an MCL strain (the ligament on the inside of the knee). Gable and Jordan were attacked by The Usos on this week’s Smackdown Live so the injury is just part of the storyline. McMahon said that American Alpha has been pulled from the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Finals at Backlash and it will be The Usos vs. Hype Bros this Sunday night. The winners of that match will face Heath Slater and Rhyno in the finals.

Here is the updated card for the show:

WWE World Championship
Dean Ambrose (Champion) vs. AJ Styles

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

Smackdown Women’s Championship Six-Pack Challenge
Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella vs. Natalya vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella

Winners face Heath Slater and Rhyno in the Tag Team Championship Finals
The Usos vs. Hype Bros.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship Tournament Finals
TBD vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno

Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (Champion) vs. Dolph Ziggler

WWE Backlash takes place at 8pm eastern this Sunday at The Coliseum in Richmond, VA. We will have live coverage here at WrestlingNews.co. Our coverage starts at 7pm eastern with the Backlash Kickoff show.
