As noted earlier, there appeared to be a botch during the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship match at the Clash Of Champions pay-per-view.
The match ended abruptly when Angelo Dawkins went to pin Andrade. The referee counted to three even though it was clear that Andrade kicked out.
The wrestlers in the match and the announcers were puzzled at the ending but what appears to have happened is an audible called either by the referee or by someone in the referee’s earpiece telling him to end the match.
This is the third time in the last few weeks that we’ve seen awkward endings to matches. Mickie James’ match with Asuka ended abruptly a couple of weeks ago on Raw because the referee thought she was out when, in fact, she was fine. A couple of weeks before that, an audible was called when Ivar was injured and the referee counted three on Ricochet when that was not supposed to be the finish of the match.
It appears that the wrestlers in the match at the Clash were not told about the audible. Check out the clips below clearly shows that Garza had a leg injury. The second clip below shows the audible called at the end of the match.
