From time to time, WWE will bring in former wrestlers to serve as a guest coach at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, to teach developmental talent, whether that be to help with promos or in-ring skills. In some instances, these roles will turn into full-time opportunities.
Pwinsider.com reported today that Allison Danger, real name Cathy Corino, was spotted at the WWE Performance Center today with the belief that she was working as a guest coach, according to those at the training facility.
Corino is the sister of Performance Center coach Steve Corino, and the aunt of Colby Corino, who has worked with NWA and at one point was in talks with WWE about coming in before talks fizzled out due to what has been reported as a firing freeze going on in the company.
Corino is considered a pioneer of the women’s wrestling style that fans are now used to seeing. Because of that influence, she was a popular hire by WWE when she joined the promotion in October 2021 before she was let go alongside several other people at the Performance Center and in NXT in January 2022.
After breaking into the wrestling business in the 2000s as a manager, she started wrestling for ROH and co-created SHIMMER, the first all-female wrestling promotion in the United States.
