The XFL has confirmed that a player on the Seattle Dragons team has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The name of the player has not been released yet but it has been confirmed that he tested positive for the virus on Friday after the league announced that they would be suspending the rest of the season.
In a statement, the league said that the player participated in Seattle’s games against the Houston Roughnecks and St. Louis BattleHawks but he was asymptomatic at the time of those games.
The player mentioned is the only known to have the virus but the league states that they are monitoring the situation and they are taking every measure in accordance with recommendations from the CDC.
The league also says they have alerted players, staff, vendors and partners associated with the Dragons, Roughnecks and BattleHawks about the positive test.
