Former WWE United States and NXT Champion Andrade has made his first public comment since his sudden departure from the company this past weekend. In a direct and straightforward post on his social media, Andrade wrote, “Thank you WWE!!!”
The news of Andrade’s departure first broke over the weekend when he was moved from the active roster to the alumni section of WWE’s official website. This was the first public indication that he was no longer with the company. In the days that followed, reports began to emerge about the reasons for his exit, with the story being that it was not a case of him asking for his release.
It has since been reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer that his exit was a “disciplinary thing” and that he had been sent home from a television taping a couple of weeks prior. Sports Illustrated also noted that at least once during his most recent run with the company, he was suspended for a violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. The specific details of the incident that led to his final departure have not yet been made public.
This was Andrade’s second tenure with WWE. His first run, from 2017 to March 2021, was a successful one that saw him capture the NXT and United States Championships. After his release, he had a two-and-a-half-year run with All Elite Wrestling before making his surprise return to WWE in the 2024 Royal Rumble match.
His second run with the company was a mixed bag. While he was featured in several high-profile matches and storylines on both the Raw and SmackDown brands, his momentum seemed to stall in recent months, and he was used more sporadically before his eventual disappearance from television. His last official match for the company was in July.
Thank you WWE!!!
