Andrade has officially addressed the rumors surrounding his departure from WWE earlier this year. In mid-September, He was reportedly fired “with cause” by WWE due to multiple wellness policy violations and is under a one-year non-compete clause.
In the aftermath, reports surfaced suggesting that he had stopped answering calls and failed to show up for scheduled WWE dates. Andrade returned to AEW on the October 1 episode of Dynamite. However, he “disappeared” from television shortly after, following a legal letter WWE sent to AEW regarding his non-compete clause.
However, in a new interview, Andrade has firmly denied the allegations about the end of his WWE tenure. Speaking to Eduardo Bates, Andrade debunked the idea that he ghosted the company, explaining that any missed communication was due to travel and signal issues, not a lack of professionalism.
“The truth is a long story. I don’t feel bad about my WWE exit. I am very grateful for how much, or little, I did in that year and a half,” Andrade said. “I never missed dates and never stopped answering the cell phone as many gossipy people who broke the news said. Yes, I was traveling and they called me. What happened was that I had a day trip because I was not scheduled and they called me to me. I returned the call at about one or two hours, but nothing to do with the fact that I didn’t want to answer or that I disappeared.”
Andrade clarified that the missed calls occurred during a personal trip when he was not booked for any events. He stated that he returned the calls promptly once he was able to.
“It was one, two, three hours that I didn’t answer and it was just the company sending me a message that ‘where are you?’, and things like that. I don’t know who got that story that I didn’t want to answer. I was out of the country, I explained to them that it was because of the time difference, the internet, no signal, many things, but nothing to do with me never answering them or anything like that.”
