WWE has announced that they have released Andrade. As previously noted, Andrade asked to be released a couple of weeks ago while backstage at Monday Night Raw.
Andrade hasn’t been seen on WWE TV in several months and the writing was on the wall for him when Paul Heyman was removed as the Executive Director of Raw.
Heyman is a huge fan of Andrade and wanted to make him into one of the top stars on the brand. His push ended when Heyman was ousted and the word going around in WWE was that Vince McMahon did not see anything in him. Aleister Black is another name that McMahon reportedly does not see as a top star.
Andrade is now free to work elsewhere for any wrestling company in the world. Presumably, he will draw interest from companies in Mexico, NJPW, Impact Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling.
Earlier tonight, Andrade noted that he received some good news but he did not elaborate. His release request being granted is apparently what he was referring to.
WWE has come to terms on the release of Andrade. We wish him all the best in all of his future endeavors. https://t.co/h5HggeFPjv
