Andrade Responds To Backlash Over Comment About WWE Wrestler

Andrade has clarified his initial one-word response to a viral clip of Kendal Grey executing a move reminiscent of his own, saying he genuinely had no knowledge of the WWE NXT performer before fans brought her to his attention and using the moment to praise her future in the business.

The situation began on the March 24 edition of NXT when Grey executed a blocked kick-spinning elbow during a tag team match alongside Wren Sinclair against Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. The clip spread quickly on social media with fans labeling it a tribute to Andrade given how prominently he uses the move. When tagged in the conversation, Andrade’s initial response was simply “Who?” which drew immediate criticism from fans who pointed out that Grey’s work on NXT and Evolve had made her a recognizable name within the wrestling community.

Andrade later returned to X to address the backlash with more context and offered a genuine endorsement of Grey’s potential. “Hahaha! I asked who she was because, honestly, I didn’t know, but now I do, and it’s thanks to you guys,” Andrade wrote. “She definitely has a future in this business. Good luck.”

Grey signed with WWE in 2023 through the NIL Next in Line program and has been building her profile across both NXT and Evolve. She captured the Evolve Women’s Championship in September 2025 before relinquishing the title earlier this month to fully commit to her NXT run.

Andrade returned to AEW in January 2026 and has been working his way toward the AEW World Championship. His most recent pay-per-view appearance came at Revolution, where he defeated Bandido.
