New details have emerged regarding the recent, sudden departure of Andrade from WWE. As previously noted, a new report from Sports Illustrated’s Jon Alba, which was corroborated by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, indicates that a WWE Wellness Policy failure was one of the factors that led to his release.
According to the report from Sports Illustrated, a WWE Wellness Policy failure was a contributing factor in the decision to release Andrade. It was also noted that WWE is apparently no longer publicly announcing these failures, a shift from their previous policy. Mike Johnson of PWInsider later confirmed that he had heard the same story making the rounds among WWE talent as far back as August.
The report also mentioned another rumor that has been making the rounds backstage. The rumor said that Andrade was unable to be reached by the company for several weeks, as he had left the United States to travel to another country in South America and was not responding to their attempts to contact him.
A third rumor that had been circulating was that part of the issue stemmed from Andrade turning down a request to work for the company’s partner promotion, AAA. However, the report from PWInsider.com shoots down this theory, as he was told by three different sources that this request was never even made and that Andrade was never included in any of the creative pitches for the AAA crossover events.
Andrade had been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website last week, which was the first public indication that he was no longer with the company. The full reports can be found on PWInsider.com.
