Angel Garza recently did an interview with Vicente Beltrán of ViBe & Wrestling where he spoke about a wide range of topics including his incident with Randy Orton on the July 6th episode of Monday Night Raw.
Orton teamed up with Garza and Andrade for a six-man tag team match against The Big Show and The Viking Raiders. During the match, there was a moment where Orton grabbed Garza by the throat and told him to get himself together.
Orton was seen talking with Garza while having him by the throat and pressing him up against the barricade and ring post. Orton told him that he has a special place in his heart for Garza because he grew up in the business like he did, but would put him in the dirt if he didn’t get it together.
In this interview, Garza talked about how it was the best thing that could’ve happened to him and he has changed since then.
“It has been the best experience I’ve ever had in my life. I think it’s like when your teacher or your dad tells you: ‘Don’t do this because it’s wrong, you better do this.’ There is a very big difference in that. They tell you ‘don’t do it’ and period; they tell you what is right, what is wrong … then in the lockerroom is very helpful and what they tell you is ‘You better do this, it is much better’ and it is like saying: ‘He is telling me this because he wants to help me to be better’.
I think that if you have a look at my character before and after the incident with Orton I am a completely different person, he changed my chip and definitely helped me for the better, as simple as that. Of course, I like feedback from people: ‘You know you have to go to the right, to the left, you are not doing so well and it will be better for you … ‘ I will always take the advice 1000% because I know that it is for the better so I can help the future generations.
Yes, there was a before and after the encounter with Randy Orton when he grabbed me and said: ‘I love you but you are not doing things right’. I think it was also the best thing that could happen in my career. After that I had amazing confrontations with Big Show and some others. I am having the greatest time in my career.”
Garza also talked about the WWE ThunderDome, his first year in WWE, and more. You can check out the entire interview by clicking on the player below:
