Another match could be added to this Sunday’s WWE Clash in Paris premium live event. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, a singles match between Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre has been discussed for the show.
An Orton and McIntyre Addition To The Card
“There’s at least a solid chance that they’re going to add Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre to the pay-per-view on Sunday,” Meltzer said. “It’s not 100% but it was something that’s been talked about.”
A Heated Randy Orton And Drew McIntyre Rivalry
A one-on-one encounter between the two world champions would be the next logical step in their rivalry. The feud kicked into high gear at the SummerSlam premium live event, where McIntyre and his partner, Logan Paul, defeated the team of Orton and Jelly Roll.
The rivalry has continued in the weeks since SmackDown. On the August 22nd episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton hit a RKO on McIntyre, leading to McIntyre cutting a promo on social media where he called Orton “Old Yeller” and vowed to put him down.
The addition of Orton vs. McIntyre would make the Clash in Paris card even more stacked. The show is already set to feature a fatal four-way for the World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena vs. Logan Paul, and Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed. The full report can be heard on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
